Sandra has been specialising in Family Law for more than twenty years, regularly acting for high nett worth individuals (both South African and international), deals with child-related matters, regularly acts in international Family Law matters of a financial nature as well as in child matters, including matters involving the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction. She has a keen interest in the drafting of bespoke Antenuptial Contracts/Pre-Nuptial Agreements (both South African and international).
Career
Sandra was previously a partner at Miller du Toit Cloete Inc, a boutique Family Law practice where she practiced for six years. She qualified with a B.Proc from the University of Port Elizabeth (now Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University), was admitted as an Attorney in 1994 and is also a qualified and admitted Notary, Conveyancer and Mediator.
Market Recognition
She served on the former Cape Law Society Family Law Committee for fourteen years, inter alia commenting on draft legislation to the Law Commission of South Africa and giving presentations to her peers on behalf of the Cape Law Society.
Sandra is a member of the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL). She has given presentations at International Conferences of the IAFL on Antenuptial Contracts (Sicily, Italy in 2015) and on a Comparative Law Study (Melbourne, Australia in 2019). Until recently, she was a member of the International Bar Association (IBA). Sandra co-authored a publication for the International Comparative Legal Guide, Family Law 2020 publication.
